Through loss, I found a renewed sense of determination to do the very things I once feared. In facing challenges head-on, I found strength and renewed purpose, inspired by the lessons of my family members.
When my mother passed away, it felt like the ground beneath me crumbled. I was soaring in my career, on a fast upward trajectory, and I didn't allow myself the time to grieve properly because I was so busy. The impact of her death hit me hard, and I found myself building walls, not wanting to let people in.
Losing my mother was especially difficult because she was the last member of my immediate family. Their collective influence shaped who I am today, and their absence created a void that I had to navigate through. I had to confront the fear of being alone and learn to understand that I am enough and capable of taking care of myself. Although I've always been independent, I used to have the comfort of knowing that if I ever faltered, someone was there to support me. With that safety net gone, it created a lingering fear of failure, as there was no longer a backup plan or a place to fall back on.
Their teachings were the foundation of my journey in real estate starting in 2005. My father’s community spirit inspired me to see real estate not just as a business but as a way to serve and uplift my community. My mother's resilience pushed me to tackle obstacles head-on, never shying away from challenges. My grandmother's wisdom and work ethic fueled my determination to excel in my career, while my grandfather's generosity reminded me to always put my clients' needs first.
Being a commission-based employee since I was 19 required immense faith. I believe that by taking care of God's people, He will take care of me. This belief has grounded me and influenced how I treat others, ensuring I act with integrity and compassion.
Despite the challenges I faced after losing my mother, through the grieving process, I was determined to fulfill a greater purpose and put my energy toward creating something positive. I use real estate as my ministry, finding my purpose in helping others, which I believe is what God sent me here to do. My business is a vehicle for community development, support, and education. These values and goals motivated me to, along with my business partners, start our own team, The Mathis Group. In doing this, I was embracing the uncertainty, not letting fear hold me back, in hopes of creating something truly impactful.
In running the team, I found immense fulfillment in mentoring and pouring into others, applying my years of industry experience. In return, they have supported me and become like family, making me realize I am far from alone. We were very successful, leading to yet another leap of faith starting our brokerage, Gallery Collective. We are proud to have cultivated a talented and dedicated team, ensuring that both our agents and clients feel valued and respected. As our brokerage grows, we plan to start community initiatives, like free yard services and minor repairs to elderly or low-income residents to lend a helping hand. The principles my family taught me continue to be the cornerstone of my success, driving me to create a lasting legacy that honors their memory and positively impacts the community.
Real estate is my true calling, and my life revolves around it. I own an interior design firm called White Glove Design, and I take great joy in doing slow flips within my neighborhood. Each home I renovate features a special rock placed in front, serving as my signature within the community I live and grew up in. Through loss, I’ve grown a deeper appreciation for the people in my life and the impact real estate has had in giving me purpose and sharing transformative experiences with others. When not working, I cherish time with my Partner, Calvin, our dogs, my incredible team members, friends, and family!
Built on the values instilled by my family—community involvement, resilience, hard work, and generosity—I view my work as more than just transactions; it’s a ministry. Every person my team and I have the honor of working with is an opportunity to create a lasting impact on their lives. I specialize in working with investors because, as an investor myself, I understand their unique needs and speak their language. My background in construction costs, ARVs, and value assessment gives me an edge that typical real estate agents might not have. Investors appreciate that I can offer comprehensive services, including designing their properties through my interior design firm, White Glove Design.
Additionally, I excel in providing exceptional service to traditional buyers and sellers. With nearly 20 years of experience and a strong track record of success, my agents are in the Top 3% in our area. Our commitment to leading with our hearts and doing the right thing, no matter the cost, sets us apart. We focus on creating a collaborative environment, ensuring clients feel supported and understood throughout their real estate journey.
Sincerely,
